- attend our conferences (including when your badge is scanned at one of our events);

We may also record your levels of satisfaction with the services we have provided.

- to provide your personal information to third parties who have joint ownership of publications, where consent to share that information has been provided;
- to process the print subscription service by third party printers to fulfil our contractual obligations to provide the publication via subscription;
- to process the digital subscription service by third party digital subscription providers to fulfil our contractual obligations to provide the digital publication via subscription;
- to process refunds as required when there have been issues with the subscription process;
- to communicate with you about renewing your subscription via telephone, email and mail towards the end of your current subscription;
- to communicate with you via email, mail and telephone about a lapsed subscription when this occurs;
- to offer purchasers of one off issues of the publications the opportunity to take a regular subscription to that publication;
- to facilitate auditing of the circulation figures by third party auditors;
- to ensure that our website is safe and secure; and
- to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
We may also match personal information that you provide to us directly with other information about you obtained from or held by third party sources (such as social media platforms). This may include your contact details, demographic data, your social media interactions, preferences, shopping habits, interests, geographic location, age or age range, gender, language and nationality. For example we will rely on this legal basis when we conduct certain market analysis to understand our customers in sufficient detail so we can create new services and improve the profile of our brands.
- Performance of a contract with you: For example, where you have purchased tickets to one of our events or taken out a subscription to one of our publications and we need to use your contact details and payment information in order to process your order and send the event tickets or publication to you.
- Compliance with law: Where we are subject to a legal obligation and need to use your personal information in order to comply with that obligation.
5. WHERE WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

6. HOW WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We take steps to ensure that the personal information that you provide is retained for only as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. After this period it will be deleted or in some cases anonymised.
Where we have collected the personal information based on your consent and we have no other lawful basis to continue with that processing, if you subsequently withdraw your consent then we will flag your record as unsubscribe, but keep your record to use for suppression from future direct marketing unless you specifically tell us not to.

Where information is provided directly to a third party subscription service such as Intermedia, PocketMags or Readily, rather than directly to the publication, it is the responsibility of that third party to handle your personal information in accordance with data protection regulations. You will be bound by that third party’s privacy statement.

These include: the right to object to the processing of your information for certain purposes, the right to access your personal information, and the ability to erase, restrict or receive a machine-readable copy of your personal information.

10. ADVERTISING AND SALES DATA
PR and advertising contacts are collated for contacting for invitations for press breakfasts and promotional events, and to receive complimentary issues of the publications where appropriate.
Advertising contacts are contacted with regards to the opportunities to appear in advertising space on the websites, in the print publishing, sponsorship of Room Sets at events, in show guides, in conjunction with competitions and goody bags.
